Undergraduate Degree Programs

 

Finance (Sino-UK Joint Undergraduate Program)

The Undergraduate Program in Finance (Sino-UK Joint Program) was approved by the Ministry of Education in September 2014 and is cooperated between The International Business College of South China Normal University and the Business School of the University of Aberdeen, UK. It is a Provincial Featured Program. Students are admitted through NCEE in the Tier 1 batch.

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

The program aims to cultivate high quality interdisciplinary specialists who are equipped with professional knowledge, theories, skills and comprehensive abilities in economics, finance, management and law, and who are able to make investment and financing analysis and decision making in finance industry, especially in the real estate finance industry, and who can be involved in administration in related areas, as well as proficient English skills, cross-cultural background and global perspective.

Feature of Teaching:

The program adopts "4+0" and "2+2" training models. Students can choose to complete the four-year study in China, to obtain SCNU degree certificate and diploma; students can also choose to study double degree courses in the University of Aberdeen when certain conditions are met on the third year. When the graduation requirements of both universities are met, students can obtain bachelor's degrees from both universities and SCNU’s undergraduate diploma.

Advantage of Cultivation:

This program fully introduces foreign high-quality educational resources, highly integrated with the teaching process of the University of Aberdeen. During their studies in South China Normal University, Students enjoy the talent training program, faculty, curriculum and teaching methods, teaching supervision and other aspects of international standards, internationalization aspects are throughout the whole process of studying. Courses are taught in English or bilingual terms, with more than a third of courses taught in China by teachers selected by the University of Aberdeen. At the same time, a wealth of practical teaching connections are established.

Curriculum Setting:

The courses offered in the Finance program include: Enterprise Accounting, Micro and Macro Economics, Investment, Financial Marketing, Principle of Assets Evaluation, Financial Management, Corporate Finance, International Finance, Financial Empirical Research Methods, the Internet Financial and Financial Technology, Currency Finance, Land and Real Estate Economics, Real Estate Finance, International Financial Management, Financial Risk Management, Financial Statement Analysis, etc.

Employment Fields:

Enterprises and institutions, financial institutions, multinational companies, real estate finance and other fields of financial analysis and investment and financing business.

 

 

French (Sino-France Joint Undergraduate Program)

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

The French program aims at cultivating talented senior professionals who have international perspective, economic and business knowledge and skills, strong intercultural communication skills and high comprehensive humanistic quality, whose work or further study is focused on foreign-related areas such as interpretation, foreign affairs, foreign trade, education, research and management.

Feature of Teaching:

The program adopts "3+1" training model. Students can choose to complete the four-year study in China, to obtain SCNU degree certificate and diploma; students can also choose to study double degree courses in the French universities when certain conditions are met on the forth year. When the graduation requirements of both universities are met, students can obtain bachelor's degrees from both universities and SCNU’s undergraduate diploma.

Advantage of Cultivation:

The program integrates the teaching resources from Université de Tours and Université de Nice. During their studies in South China Normal University, Students enjoy the talent training program, faculty, curriculum and teaching methods, teaching supervision and other aspects of international standards, internationalization aspects are throughout the whole process of studying. 90% of the courses are taught in French or bilingually. Core courses are taught in China by teachers selected by the French universities. At the same time, a wealth of practical teaching connections are established.

Curriculum Setting:

Language courses: Basic French, Advanced French, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, Interpreting and Translation, Introduction of French Speaking Regions, French Literature, Selected Readings of French Press, etc;

Business courses: Economics, International Business, Enterprise Management, International Business Law, Marketing, etc. For the SCNU-Nice program, Advanced Mathematics is required; For the SCNU-Tour program, Academic English course is required.

Employment Fields:

Economic and trade management, multinational enterprises, foreign affairs translation, foreign language teaching and other fields.

 

 

Financial Management (Sino-Australia, Sino-US Joint Undergraduate Program)

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

The Financial Management joint program aims to cultivate internationalized application-oriented senior financial management experts who are equipped with economics and management knowledge, who can grasp advanced financial management theories and methods, who have high levels of English language proficiency, to work for export-oriented enterprises and institutions under the background of economic globalization.

Feature of Teaching:

The program adopts "2.5+1.5", "2+2", "3+1" training models. Students can choose to complete the four-year study in China, to obtain SCNU degree certificate and diploma; students can also choose to study double degree courses in the Australian or American universities when certain conditions are met. When the graduation requirements of both universities are met, students can obtain bachelor's degrees from both universities and SCNU’s undergraduate diploma.

Curriculum Setting:

Macroeconomics, Economic Law, Accounting Principles, Financial Management, Overview of Finance, Marketing, Business Statistics, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Tax Law and Tax Planning, Cost Accounting, Investment Project Evaluation, Audit Theory and Practice, Financial Statement Analysis.

Advantage of Cultivation:

The program integrates the teaching resources from Curtin University, Saint Louis University, San Francisco State University and William Jessup University. During their studies in South China Normal University, Students enjoy the talent training program, faculty, curriculum and teaching methods, teaching supervision and other aspects of international standards, internationalization aspects are throughout the whole process of studying. 60% of the courses are taught in English or bilingually. Core courses are taught in China by teachers selected by the overseas universities. At the same time, a wealth of practical teaching connections are established.

Financial Management

Objectives of Talent Cultivation:

The Financial Management program aims to cultivate innovative applied senior financial management professionals with solid theoretical basis of management and economics, systematic mastery of advanced financial management knowledge and skills, high level of foreign languages and information technology, and international perspective.

Feature of Teaching:

Through the concept of international teaching, students can skillfully use financial management methods and tools to deal with all kinds of enterprises and institutions accounting, make use of information technology to obtain and process data, timely grasp the financial dynamics, analysis of development trends, to provide effective financial decision-making and management, investment and risk management for enterprises and institutions.

Curriculum Setting:

Principles of Accounting, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Financial Management, Intermediate Financial Accounting, Financial Markets, Cost Management Accounting, Investment Project Evaluation, Auditing, Financial Statement Analysis, Tax Law and Tax Planning, Economic Law, Business English, Writing, etc.

Employment Fields:

Work in enterprises and institutions and government departments, engaged in finance, accounting, auditing, taxation, finance, management and other related work.
